Research Platforms

Three state-of-the art technology platforms support teaching and research activities at DTU Bioengineering. In addition, the platforms offer collaborative and scientific services to other DTU departments, other Danish universities and private companies. Each platform is managed by a scientist supported by technical staff. 

Technically, the platforms offer analytical capabilities that span qualitative and quantitative analyses of a small molecules including primary/secondary metabolites, lipids, carbohydrates, and other bio-active compounds (Metabolomics Platform); Proteins and their post-translational modifications in either pure form or in complex biological mixtures (Proteomics Platform). Moreover, cell growth under controlled conditions and with powerful analytical tools such as off-line gas analyses and isotope labelling for studies involving cell metabolism and physiology, especially in the context of cell factory development are provided by the Fermentation Platform.
