Nano Bio Integrated Systems

The NaBIS group integrates micro- and nanoscience in lab-on-chip systems for biological and environmental analyses. The objective of the group is to develop highly sensitive technologies for medical diagnosis, treatment monitoring as well as environmental monitoring.

We specialize in application-driven research focusing on the entire process from manipulating the properties of biological structures, creating sensors and implementing everything in a reliable point of care (POC) device for efficient diagnostic and monitoring purposes.

NaBIS develops highly sensitive sensors that we optimize for biological application.

Personalised diagnosis & treatment monitoring

NaBIS uses nano- and microtechnology to build lab on a chip systems for personalised diagnosis and treatment monitoring of diseases like cancer.

NaBIS develops biosensors that can monitor the presence of pesticides, vira and bacteria in water over time.

Innovation is a natural part of NaBIS research when solving real biomedical challenges.
Winnie Svendsen. Group leader for NaBIS

An expert on micro and nano integrated systems for biomedical applications, Winnie Svendsen leads the NaBIS group. The priority in the group is set on interdisciplinary research.

The interdisciplinary NaBIS group has expertise in developing sensors, sample handling, microfluidics, modelling and implementation of the technology.
