Infrastructure core facilities
A number of infrastructure core facilities support teaching and research activities at DTU Bioengineering and offer collaborative and scientific services to other DTU departments, other Danish universities, and private companies. Each core is managed by a scientist supported by technical staff.

DTU Bioimaging Core
Facilitates the analysis of cells by optical imaging tools: From advanced high-resolution 3D and 2D microscopy over colony analysis to single cell quantitation using flow cytometry and cell sorting.Offers self-service analysis by trained users or assisted analysis and provides imaging of your cells on a contract research basis.

DTU Fermentation Core
Provides state-of-the-art facilities for investigation of quantitative microbial physiology of cells to the researchers at DTU Bioengineering by grouping advanced instrumentation under a single management in dedicated laboratories. The main objective of the facility is to support research and teaching facilities in the areas of cellular physiology, fermentation processes, metabolite analysis, purification processes, and screening of microbial and mammalian cells.

DTU Metabolomics Core
Provides analytical service to the researchers at DTU Bioengineering by grouping all major analytical instrumentation under a single management in dedicated laboratories.
The main objective is to ensure an efficient use of all equipment, to maintain a high level of analytical skills and knowledge as well as secure cost-efficient operation of the very expensive equipment.

The Protein Biophysics Core
Provides academic and industrial users access to a suite of state-of-the-art equipment for biophysical characterization of the key properties that matter for proteins in different scenarios, such as enzymes and antibodies. Properties that we are able to quantify include, but are not limited to, thermal, chemical, and colloidal stability of proteins and their binding affinity to other molecules or surfaces.

DTU Structural Biology Core
The DTU Structure Biology Core provides structural service to the employees at DTU. Equipment necessary for complete structural determination is available and collected in dedicated laboratories. The core provide the researchers access to structural analysis of both proteins and metabolites using x-ray crystallography.
