IBIS is a global research program hosted at DTU Bioengineering, dedicated to accelerating the development and adoption of microbial biofertilizers to sustainably boost the global food supply.

Funded by the Gates Foundation and Novo Nordisk Foundation, IBIS unites leading partners across Southeastern Africa, Southeast Asia, and Europe—including DTU, University of Copenhagen, CSIR South Africa, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, and Århus University.

The program focuses on building regional capacity, harmonizing evaluation methods, and fostering open collaboration shaped by the real-world needs of farmers, agronomists, innovators, and regulators worldwide.
